The Saudi newspapers commented today editorially on the Kingdom's national day which falls on Sept 23. Dammam-based Al-Yaum said the Kingdom celebrates today its national day amid significant international political and economic changes. It noted that since the unification the country under the leadership of king Abdulaziz, the Kingdom has been going ahead on the path of development and progress. The daily lauded the support extended by the citizens to the efforts exerted by the concerned authorities to contain the menace of the deviant group. On its part, Jeddah-based Al-Bilad said the 74th anniversary for the Kingdom's national day reminds us with the great sacrifices made by our grandfathers for the unification of the country. Meanwhile, Riyadh-based Al-Jazirah said the Arabs and Muslims should learn a good lesson from the great achievements attained under the leadership of King Abdulaziz and which ended with the unification of the country . Abha-based Al-Watan said the Kingdom stands as a good example for the country which is adherent to its deep-rooted values and specialties and the same open to the noble international values. 'The quarters which advocate westernization of the Kingdom and separation of the religious values from the political ones are ignorant of the spiritual pillars on which the Kingdom was based, said the Daily. Al-Watan called for an Islamic reformatory movement which is dependent on the political, economic, social and cultural development.
