President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad received here today a delegation of advisers and assistants of the members of the US Congress who are currently visiting the Kingdom. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Awwad discussed with the US delegation aspects of joint cooperation in the field of human rights between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in addition to ways of enhancing them. The HRC President affirmed a depth of relations binding the two friendly countries in various fields and highlighted the developments witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in supporting human rights as well as the pioneer reform steps led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in this field. Before the US delegation, the HRC President highlighted the reforms and efforts carried out by the Kingdom in field of human rights in addition to issuance of 60 decisions to consolidate the human rights, including 22 decisions to empower a woman and maintain her rights. Dr. Al-Awwad pointed out that this enormous transformation is achieved in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030 which aims to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development for a better future for the Kingdom.
