HRC Board Stresses Importance of Civil Society Organizations' Participation in Raising Awareness of Negative Effects of Preventing Women from Getting Married
The Board of Directors of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) has held a meeting in Riyadh headed by its Vice President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khayyal. The Board reviewed the report of Sharia and Legal Affairs Committee regarding addressing the issue of Adhl (preventing women from getting married), based on the Commission's President. The Board praised rules of Adhl cases issued by President of the Supreme Judiciary Council. The Sharia and Legal Affairs Committee also recommended the importance of civil society organizations' participation in raising awareness of the negative effects of preventing women from getting married. The Board reviewed the report of the Cultural Committee regarding studies and research related to human rights and the mechanism of cooperation with national universities and the Ministry of Education to benefit from their research in the areas of human rights.
