Under the patronage of Transport Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, GACA's President, Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, handed over yesterday an operational license for ground services to the Saudi Logistics Services Company "SAL". The CEO of the company, Omar Hariri received the license from the Minister. This came during a ceremony organized by Saudi Arabian Airlines yesterday evening at the Rafal Kempinski Hotel in Riyadh, in the presence of a number of senior officials and executives of the aviation industry. This license comes in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership to support the logistical sector in the Kingdom and with continuous follow-up by the Transport Minister to support the sector, both private and public. The new logistical entity was launched yesterday that is the main gateway for freight and ground handling services in the Kingdom. The delivery of the operational license for ground services comes in line with the executive regulations of the GACA related to ground services for airports, including Executive Regulation No. (151) concerned with licensing all ground services companies' providers in the Kingdom's airports. This is in accordance with international standards, and GACA's Executive Regulations (68) that concern the licensing of all ground service providers at the Kingdom's airports and in accordance to the best international standards. These aforementioned laws and regulations are the first of their kind in the world and contribute to the reduction of ground accidents throughout the Kingdom's airports and in accordance with best of international standards stipulated in GACA's Executive Regulations.
