Saudi Heritage Preservation Society has passed the standards and requirements to become a consultative body in the field of intangible heritage with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Saudi Heritage Preservation Society is the first Saudi and Gulf organization to pass standards and requirements upon the recommendation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee during the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, which was held during the period 8-14 December 2019 in Bogota, Colombia. This important stage in the Society's march comes after several achievements at the international level, the most prominent of which is the registration of the Society as an international non-governmental organization, in cooperation with the UNESCO, where the Society is an effective and influential element in the field of preserving Saudi heritage and awareness of its importance and national value and benefit from it according to its vision.
