An earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale hit south of Xinjiang, northwest China, a statement issued by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC ) said. "The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 79.91 km east of Xinjiang, and two kilometers below the sea." according to EMSC. There were no reports of human casualties or material damage, the Center reported. -
