Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz newspaper said in its editorial that the fortieth summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, which will be held tomorrow in Riyadh, will come at a crucial moment in the history of the region, especially since the situation in a number of Arab countries has become a unsteady situation after the Iranian intervention. The paper cited the statement of the Secretary-General of the Council Abdullatif Al-Zayani who said that the summit will come out with constructive decisions that enhance and deepen interdependence, cooperation and complementarity among member states, and will discuss a number of important issues in various political fields. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands with Lebanon in the face of the violent economic crisis since the aggravation of the demonstrations that erupted on the seventeenth of October, and are still raging, to portend economic crises that its signs have begun to appear. The paper said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has repeatedly called for practicing all means to restore calm and stability to the country, and preserve its sovereignty and national unity.
