The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held its first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Civil Aviation Sector in the capital city of Riyadh today. The meeting was chaired by Eng. Saleh Al Jasser, Transport Minister and Chairman of Board of Directors of GACA, and in the presence of Abdulhadi Al Mansouri, GACA President . Executives of national companies operating in the sector were also were also in attendance. The meeting aims to support the strategic direction of the transformation of the civil aviation sectors, discuss challenges ahead, develop solutions and future plans, and take the views and observations of the private sector and their recommendations on strategic priorities and gains. The meeting reviewed a number of topics on the agenda in the form of an open discussion with the relevant sector's stakeholders. The focus of the discussions was the development and the steps that are taken for further advancement in the aviation sector. The meeting also reviewed the transformation program that GACA is working on, in parallel with the developments occurring in the Kingdom, most notably the tourist visa issuance and major projects, which place more responsibility on this sector and the need to carry it out efficiently and effectively. It is worth noting that GACA has launched the idea of the Advisory Council, which began its first meeting today, with the aim of developing a joint business model with the private sector. Furthermore, it is an effort on behalf of GACA to harmonize work, and visions among the various pillars of the sector and achieve initiatives and strategies that have been designed, which require joint action. This is in addition to activating mutual dialogue and working as reliable partners, which is essential for the success of the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom.
