The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallimi, here today met with Ambassador Alvaro Albacete, Deputy Secretary General of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID). During the meeting, they reviewed the great efforts of KAICIID and its role in spreading the message of peace and its efforts in addressing contemporary challenges facing societies, especially in light of the spread of hate speech and extremism, increasing attacks on holy places and the sanctification of places of worship. The center works to find ways to address these practices, combat persecution, violence, racism and conflict in the name of religions, and promote a culture of dialogue, cooperation and coexistence among followers of religions and cultures. The visit of the Deputy Secretary-General of KAICIID to the United Nations is an extension of the constructive joint cooperation between the United Nations and the Center in light of the joint message of peace that brings them together and the Center's participation in the meetings organized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
