A land mine attack and gunfire killed eight people in separate incidents in India's insurgency-ridden territory of Kashmir, police said Thursday. Soldiers and rebels fought a gunbattle Thursday in the village of Mool-Dangerpora, where stray bullets killed two villagers and injured another, a police officer said on condition of anonymity. In Jammu-Kashmir state's Doda town, a land mine blew up a truck carrying paramilitary soldiers, killing two of them and wounding six others, police said.
