Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen met in New York yesterday with United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNOAC) Miguel Angel Moratinos. The two sides reviewed ways to build a partnership that brings together the organization and the alliance to implement programs and projects in various fields of common interest, especially in the field of empowering women and youth, and confronting extremism and Islamophobia. During the meeting, they agreed to review the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Organization and the Alliance of Civilizations in order to ensure the implementation of its clauses and build better levels of joint cooperation. The two sides also stressed the importance of holding regular talks at both organizations' headquarters in Jeddah and New York.
