Minister of Islamic Affairs, Da'wah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh received at his residence in Jeddah High Commissioner for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Moratinos, who is currently visiting the Kingdom. At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the Secretary of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue KAICIID Dr. Faisal bin Abdulrahman Al Muammar, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh welcomed the High Commissioner for the Alliance of Civilizations at the United Nations and stressed the Ministry's keenness to build bridges of understanding and communication with different cultures. He pointed out the efforts exerted by the Kingdom under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the follow-up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, to promote dialogue, coexistence, tolerance and non-violence among peoples.. Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh also gave a detailed explanation to Miguel Moratinos on the Ministry's mission and plans and the various programs and activities carried out locally and internationally to promote the concepts of coexistence and moderation according to the Kingdom vision 2030. For his part, the High Commissioner thanked the Minister for his warm reception and hospitality and expressed his admiration for the Ministry's experience and its achievements in the projects, programs and initiatives that the Ministry continues to implement to promote dialogue and values of coexistence, cohesion, tolerance, moderation and rejection of violence and extremism. He expressed the appreciation of the United Nations organizations, especially the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, for these efforts in this regard.. During the meeting, they discussed ways of joint cooperation in promoting and spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence among nations and peoples, as well as discussing projects and programs of mutual interest between the two sides.
