The Republic of France participated in the international runs of competitions in the Crown Prince Camel Festival in its second edition, which concluded yesterday, in the camel field in Taif province, amid a large Arab participation to win prizes allocated to international runs. The French participation was by "Louvre Camel" owned by Dr. Mohammed Jamal - French nationality - marking the first European presence and participation in camel races to advance these races from local to international competitions. The French participation was in the international runs in the Festival alongside the Arab participation including United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Sudan, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The value of its prizes amounted to SR (52) million. It is noteworthy that the Crown Prince Camel Festival in its first edition witnessed the establishment of the International Camel Federation, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the presence of 13 countries, and chose the capital Riyadh as its headquarters, and elected Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki AlFaisal by acclamation as President of the Federation and Prince Fahd bin Jelawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed as Vice President, with the membership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Sudan, Jordan, Egypt, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, France, Eritrea and Mongolia.
