Gunmen kill senior Iraqi police officer in Ramadi

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a senior police officer on Saturday in this volatile city west of
Baghdad, police said.
Lt. Col. Saad Smayer was killed at the gate of his home as
he left for work, said Jaadan Mohammed al-Alwan.
The attackers fled in a vehicle, al-Alwan said. No other
details were available.
