Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, has expressed his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on assuming the presidency and hosting the Islamic Summit in Makkah, stressing that this comes from the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince to strengthen the bonds of solidarity among Islamic countries and to support the joint Islamic action. Dr. Al-Othaimeen said in a statement at the end of the 14th Islamic Summit that this summit strongly condemned the terrorist attack on two oil pumping stations in Dawadmi and Afif governorates in the Kingdom, which targets the interests of countries and international oil supplies, pointing to the full solidarity of the summit with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its unlimited support for all measures taken to protect its national security and oil supplies and its call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to maintain peace and security in the region. He also said that the Summit also condemned the acts of sabotage against four commercial vessels near the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates and described them as criminal acts that threaten the safety of maritime navigation. On the Palestinian issue, the Secretary General praised the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the outstanding role being played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Palestinian cause.
