During the third week of May 2019, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief)'s project for clearing landmines (MASAM) in Yemen has successfully demined 1,329 landmines, including 44 antipersonnel mines, 586 anti-tank mines, 676 unexploded ordnance and 23 explosive devices. Since the start of the project, 71,868 landmines, have been demined after they had been planted by Iranian-backed Al-Houthi militias in Yemen, claimed the lives of scores of children, women and the elderly, whether by death, serious injuries or amputation.
