The general conference of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) today elected Mauritania's nominee Mohammed ould Aamar as director general of ALECSO, replacing Dr. Saud Hilal Al-Harbi.
The organization's portal, which reported the news, said the new manager will assume office within two weeks from the date of appointment.
The rivalry on the portfolio was limited to three competitors from Tunis, Oman and Mauritania following the withdrawal of nominees of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Iraq.
