Minister of Culture and Information Dr Fouad Bin Abdul-Salam Al-Farsi met here on Saturday with editors-in-chief of the local newspapers and magazines. They exchanged views on issues pertaining to the role that could be played by the local press in shedding light on the Kingdom's National Day, which falls on September 23. Dr Al-Farsi conveyed to the editors-in-chief the appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, for the significant role being played by the press in enhancing pillars of the national unity. Dr Al-Farsi pointed out that the National Day provides a good opportunity to highlight the Kingdom's role at the Arab, Islamic and international arenas. The meeting was attended by Dr Abdullah Al-Jasser, the Under Secretary for Information Affairs, Dr Ayed Al-Raddadi, the Director General of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), and other senior officials.
