Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said in its editorial titled ''the Kingdom's Principles'' that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia deals with oil as an exceptional commodity that cannot be monopolized, exploited or introduced into complex political calculations. This comes from the Kingdom's belief that this commodity is essential and indispensable, and has to be provided to the world to ensure the development and stability of humankind and to provide safe and dignified livelihoods for their peoples. The paper concluded that since the discovery of oil in commercial quantities in the country, the Kingdom has been committed to the principles of the energy sector, and foremost, securing oil supplies to world markets, in quantities required, and at prices that satisfy consumers and producers, seeking to promote the global economy, growth and prosperity which positively reflects the stability of peoples in all fields. Al-Youm newspaper said in its editorial on the US sanctions on Iran that Iran, since the announcement of the second batch of US sanctions, has claimed that those sanctions will have no impact on its economy, taking advantage of those exceptions granted by the US decision to some countries to buy Iranian oil until they find alternative markets, and to be surprised by the US announcement, which confirmed the ending of exemptions starting May 2nd, as the deadline from November until now was enough for those countries to find an alternative to Iranian oil.
