At least seven people were killed and several injured when a passenger bus fell into a ravine in northern Pakistan on Sunday, rescuers and police said. The 42-seat bus was heading to Rawalpindi, a city near to Islamabad, from Skardu, some 745 kilometers north of the capital, when the driver lost control while taking sharp turn on the mountain Karakorum highway in the Kohistan area. The highway connects Pakistan with China in the north. Rescuers pulled out about 17 people from the a fast-flowing stream in rugged Kohistan district while some 20 others were still missing and believed trapped in the debris of the bus or their bodies washed away.
