Five World Powers' Ambassadors Express Concern over Non-Completion of Carrying out Stockholm's Accords
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 12 - 03 - 2019

Ambassadors of the five world powers to Yemen expressed concern over non-completion of implementing Stockholm accords, recently, concluded by the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels.
In a joint statement announced here today, the ambassadors of the US, UK, France, Russia and China drew attention to non-abidance of redeploying of forces, in the seaports and Hodeida, exchange of prisoners of war and carrying out the agreement on Taiz.
Five powers' ambassadors reiterated, firmly, supporting the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths and the Head of the UN Operation Monitoring a ceasefire, in Yemen's key port of Hodeida, Lt. Gen. Michael Lollesgaard, to guarantee rapid redeployment of agreed upon arrangements, in Stockholm.
They also called on all parties to guarantee functioning of the UN Surveillance Mission of its duties, safely and without interference.
The group welcomed a latest proposal forwarded to both the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels to facilitate implementing Hodeida agreement, urging both sides to begin carrying out the proposal with good intent and without, neither further delay nor seeking to exploit redeployment operations conducted by the other side.
On the humanitarian situation, they expressed also concern over deterioration in this aspect, including Red Sea mills, fierce fighting taking place, in Hajjah Governorate, reasserting committing to continue working to reach a comprehensive political solution, based on relevant resolutions issued by the UN Security Council, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states' Initiative and its executive mechanism and the final documents of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference.
