Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Health, affirmed that the 4th Global Ministerial Patient Safety Summit 2019, which began here yesterday, plays a global pioneering role in promoting and supporting the patient safety, particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC). In a key speech at the closing session of the summit, Dr. Al-Rabeeah said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has provided assistance worth about $675 million since 2015 until today to support the humanitarian action and projects of health, water, environmental sanitation and nutrition to the needy countries. The Minister of Health stressed that the Kingdom is keen to enhance the patient safety through establishing Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC) which is the first of its kind in the whole region and fulfills one of the initiatives of the Kingdom Vision 2030.
