Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, patronized here today the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the first phase of the project of Taif-Baha-Abha Two-Way Road at a cost of about SR 600 million. Upon arrival at the venue, the Crown Prince was received by Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah Region; Dr Jubara bin Eid Al-Sureisiri, the Minister of Transport; Fahd bin Abdulaziz bin Muammar, the Governor of Taif; and a number of officials. A speech ceremony was held on this occasion. The minister of transport pointed out that this phase will be implemented by three companies in three years, expressing his thanks to the Saudi leadership for supporting his ministry's efforts. On his part, Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Baha Region, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier on this dear occasion of laying the foundation stone for the first phase of the road project. On this occasion, the Crown Prince received a memorial gift from the minister of transport and he was briefed on the project. Later, the Crown Prince graced a luncheon party held in his honor. The ceremony and the party were attended by Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs; Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud, Assistant Chief of General Intelligence; other princes; ministers and senior officials.
