Ministry of Communications signs two memorandums of understanding with India's largest companies to localize technology and excellence centers services

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed here today two memorandums of understanding with the largest Indian companies in the ICT sector, aiming to localize technology and transfer knowledge to the Kingdom and develop the digital skills of the national cadres to pave the way for effectively contribute to leading the prescribed digital transformation.
This coincides with the current state visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development, to the Republic of India.
The agreement, signed at the Saudi Investment Forum in New Delhi, was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of ICT for the Development of Technology and Digital Capabilities Dr. Ahmed bin Hamdan Al-Thunayan, a number of senior officials of the Ministry and officials of the signatory companies.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha stressed the importance of these agreements in supporting the Ministry's efforts to promote the ICT sector in the Kingdom through building constructive and fruitful strategic cooperation with international developing companies in the sector to enhance the contribution of local digital content and to support and empower national cadres and qualify them to meet the needs of the digital future and keep up with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 aiming to build a digital society and government, a flourishing digital economy and a better future for the Kingdom to build a comprehensive development renaissance that will make the Kingdom more modern and stronger society.
The agreement includes establishing a strategic partnership in the field of localization of technology and centers of excellence and development of digital capabilities in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as well as the establishment of a strategic partnership regarding the development of telecommunications and information technology services and expansion of current services, which helps in strengthening the regional economy in the Kingdom, and creating thousands of jobs and holding high-skill training courses that support localizing job programs in the ICT sector information technology as well as talent development programs, prepare a plan for localization of technology and transfer of knowledge to the Kingdom, support and empower digital entrepreneurship, to participate in digital events, and to exchange visits between experts and specialists.
