The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 4th Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety 2019 in Jeddah during the period of 2-3 March this year. It is one of the most important initiatives to support patient safety internationally and it is the first to be held in the region. Dr Abdulilah AlHosawi, the chair of the organizing committee and director General of Saudi Patient Safety Center expressed his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for approving the convening of the summit in the Kingdom which reflects its constant support for health services and preserving the safety of the society. The summit will focus on strategies that will support the integration of patient safety as an essential element in achieving universal health coverage (UHC) in all countries. The aim is to raise awareness, foster contextual applicability particularly in limited resource settings, he added.
