Riyadh-based Al-Hilal defeated Jeddah-based Al-Ahli this afternoon, in the 14th matchday of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Professionals' League Cup. In an overdramatic match, Al-Ahli took the lead with Al-Souma scoring in the seventh minute, but Gomez equalized for Al-Hilal from the penalty spot, in the third minute of the drop before the first-half, which ended in a tie. However, on the second half, Al-Hilal went rampant on the attack, as Al-Shahrani scored the second goal in the 47th minute, penetrating from the flank the defenses of Al-Ahli, on a sprint that ended as he crossed into the box, firing unstoppable low rocket-shot to find the back of the net. In the 66th minute Eduardo seemed as if he sealed the match for Al-Hilal form the spot, too, but Carrillo proved that he is the one to have the final say, scoring in the 77th minute, to raise the tally of Al-Hilal to 4 goals. Nonetheless, Al-Souma, deservedly, the man of the match, managed to pull back another goal for Al-Ahli, as he scored his second goal in the 81st minute, from the penalty spot. And as the match drew into the injury time, the same player capitalized on a cross to send a header into home, claiming a hat trick, in the 85th minute and proving his caliber beyond doubt. The two giant teams, indeed, have produced a masterclass showcase of the Saudi football, in the fully literal sense of the wordings.
