Following is the communique of the meeting held by foreign ministers of the Arab and African Coastal States of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (AARSGA): At an invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and pursuant to the meeting held in Cairo on 11 -12 December 2018, the foreign ministers of the Arab and African Coastal States of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (AARSGA) convened their first consultative meeting in Riyadh on December 12, 2018. Reflecting a common wish to enhance ways of cooperation in the political economical and security fields among the Arab and African coastal countries of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and seeking to achieve their joint interests, enhance security and stability at the regional and international arenas, and considering the importance of the key waterway for the Araba and Arica coastal countries of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden and as part of the liability they are shouldering to provide security at this water course which was and still considered a passage of civilizations and cultures, the foreign ministers underscored the importance of establishing an entity comprising the Arab and African coastal countries of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden targeting coordination and cooperation among them and studying the best ways to guarantee achieving this end in the political, economic, cultural, environmental and security field. Senior officials of those counties will hold a meeting in Cairo to continue discussing the relevant details of the issue. In conclusion, the ministers thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to them.
