OIC Welcomes UN General Assembly Adoption of Irish Draft to Resolve Palestinian Cause

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the United Nations General Assembly adoption of a draft resolution submitted by the Republic of Ireland on the need to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on the relevant UN resolutions, including Security Council resolution 2334, Palestinian territories with East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital.
Secretary-General of the OIC Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen appreciated the principled positions of the overwhelming majority of the world's countries that supported the draft resolution, stressing that this support is a steadfast international support for the rights of the Palestinian people and a choice of peace based on justice.
