GCC General Secretariat and US discuss Ways to Strengthen Economic Relations

Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaisheq met here today with US Economic Advisor Edwin Sagurton and US Embassy's Economic Affairs Officer Brian Baroni.
During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing economic relations between the GCC and the United States within the framework of the GCC-US Strategic Cooperation Forum, and in accordance with the GCC-US Framework Agreement for Trade, Economic, Investment and Technical Cooperation which was signed in September 2012.
Recalling an announcement by the two sides in May 2015, Al-Owaisheq affirmed that strengthening of economic relations between the GCC and the United States is one of the important pillars of the strategic partnership between the two sides.
