Kuwait reiterated its support for the efforts of the joint force of the five-member group of the Sahel region in Africa, stressing the importance of its role in the development of the region. This came in a speech delivered here yesterday by Permanent Representative of the United Nations to the United Nations Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi at a Security Council session on the Sahel region. Al-Otaibi expressed Kuwait's readiness to work with all members of the Security Council to discuss the future steps of the joint force of the five-member group of Burkina Faso, the Republic of Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad, which "will not be able to achieve its objectives without the support of the United Nations and the international community to combat the spread of threats throughout Region.
