The 2018 Forum on Economic Empowerment of Women, in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) was launched here today, with the participation of experts, researchers and representatives of government, regional, international organizations and private sectors. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the forum, was led by the Rector of Princess Noura University Dr. Huda bint Mohammed Al-Imail. In a press statement, Dr. Al-Aimil reviewed the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince to protect women, in various fields, indicating that the Kingdom has made significant progress, in this regard, and citing the appointing of many women, on decision-making positions and in the bodies of the state. Vision of the Kingdom 2030, she added, contains clear texts that provide for increasing the participation of women, in the labor market, as well as raising of sources of income will not bear fruit unless it is based on the equal dependence on women and men, alike. She pointed out that the rational leadership has supported the process of overcoming difficulties and obstacles, that had previously hampered women's work, such as transportation, childcare and family care and hailed programs designed to reduce pressure on women, in order that they may take an active role, as a vital component of the society.
