RIYADH: A symposium starting Saturday aims to open horizons and channels for exchange and interaction between Saudi women researchers in science in the Kingdom's universities and authorities supporting scientific activities. The meeting, “The Scientific Progress of Saudi women in the Faculties of Science,” is part of the efforts to achieve the vision of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to develop Saudi women's work in science and education. It also reflects his concern to stimulate and develop the role of female Saudi researchers and make the best use of their intellectual efforts in developing scientific research. There will be 57 researchers at the gathering, 28 posters from the Kingdom's universities and 10 renowned companies participating in the event. The symposium, which will be launched by Dr. Huda Bint Muhammad Al-Ameel, President of Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University, will be accompanied by a scientific exhibition in which many companies and scientific institutions will display their modern science and technology products, products for education technology and laboratory equipment and materials. The website http://swins.pnu.edu.sa/swins has been allocated for the gathering, the first of its kind at the level of the Kingdom's universities.
