The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned strongly the terrorist attack on a bus carrying Copts in Minya province, south of Egypt, which resulted in the death of 7 persons and injured more others. Calling the bombing a cowardly act, OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen said that it will only hold Egyptians stronger together in their commitment to fight terrorism as being contrary to the pristine values of Islam and other religions. He also expressed his sincerest condolences to the bereaved families of the victims, offering his sympathy to the people and government of Egypt, and wishing prompt recovery to the wounded. The OIC Secretary General also said that he is fully confident the Egyptian authorities will track and bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous crime. The OIC, being immovable in its position condemning terror in all its forms and manifestations, will remain fully supportive of Egypt's security, stability and counter-terrorism efforts, he stressed.
