The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, congratulated the Prime Minister-elect of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Adil Abdul Al-Mahdi, on the occasion of his government's winning confidence vote in the Iraqi House of Representatives. Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed belief that the new government will achieve greater security, stability and prosperity for the Iraqi people, praising at the same time the strong relations existing between the Republic of Iraq and the OIC, and stressing the work to develop these relations for the good of the Islamic nation. The OIC Secretary-General also congratulated the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim, on the occasion of his appointment as leader of Iraq's foreign policy team.
