OIC Appoints New Envoy to Afghanistan

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen appointed Ambassador Huseyin Avni Botsali of Turkey as OIC's new Permanent Representative in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Huseyin Avni Botsali presented copy of his Credentials to Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani in Kabul.
In the meeting, attended by foreign ministry's senior executives, the Afghan Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for OIC's longstanding support for peace efforts in Afghanistan.
Permanent Representative Ambassador Botsali reiterated OIC's firm commitment to peace, stability, reconstruction and development in Afghanistan. Ambassador Botsali also conveyed OIC Secretary General's readiness to further enhance cooperation with Afghanistan and work closely with Afghan Leadership and Government towards implementing mutually agreed projects and programs.
