Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Isa, Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his country's delegation to 13th General Conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco during the period October 11-12, 2018. In his speech before the conference, Dr. Al-Isa conveyed greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince to the participants, stressing their keenness for the conference's success. He pointed out the remarkable development witnessed by ISESCO in its performance and its great achievements that have strengthened its position and supported joint Islamic action, adding that the continuous success of ISESCO should continue at this pace of success, which is dependent on the continuing support of its member states. "ISESCO's initiatives and projects, in its current and future plans, are one of the cornerstones of creating a bright and prosperous future for the Islamic world," he said, affirming the importance of the ongoing efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggression. Dr. Al-Isa stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm stance on the Palestinian issue and its importance to the Muslim world. "The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud clarified, during the Arab Summit held recently in Saudi Arabia, that the Palestinian Cause is our first issue and will remain so until the Palestinian people have all their legitimate rights," he said, highlighting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's $50 million donation to the Islamic Waqf Support Program in Al-Quds and $150 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The Minister of Education asserted the right of the Palestinian child and youth in education which is a humane and legitimate right, recalling that skills have become the basis for the labor market. Dr. Al-Isa recommended that the ISESCO, in collaboration with the international organizations, is to hold an international forum focusing on the education status in the Islamic countries in light of modern technology changes.
