The 11th Arab Energy Conference started in this Moroccan city of Marrakesh under the patronage of King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Arab oil, petroleum, energy and electricity ministers, senior officials in pertinent ministries, secretaries general of Arab, regional and international organizations and establishments and a number of renowned experts are taking part in the event, co-organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Minerals and Sustainable Development; OAPEC; Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development; Arab League; Arab organization for Industrial and Mining development. The conference, to be held under the title "Energy and Arab Cooperation", is scheduled to discuss a host of issues, including energy situation in the Arab world, fluctuations of oil and gas markets, ways of developing energy investments and environment and sustainable development. The conferees will also discuss issues related to sources of new and renewable energy, different aspects of climate changes, electric grid in Arab countries, and technological development's effect on energy sector in Arab countries.
