The International Union for Communications, the United Nations Organization's arm specializing in the field of communications and information technology, has named its largest gallery in Switzerland "Saudia", in reference to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in recognition to the Kingdom's efforts in support of the federation since joining it in 1949 and its board of directors in 1965. This was disclosed during a reception held in Riyadh under the patronage of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha and a number of dignitaries from inside and outside the Kingdom. Addressing the elite gathering, Al-Sawaha said the Kingdom has signed an agreement with the UN organization to encourage innovative ways in the field of communications and information technology.
