The President of the General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection (GAMEP) Dr. Khalil bin Musleh Al-Thaqafi said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won a seat in the World Meteorological Organization's Hurricane Committee which is an accredited committee of the Organization and includes experts in tropical cyclones from all over the world. The membership has been made due to KSA's efforts along with its experience in the field of meteorology at the regional level, as well as the GAMEP's efforts during Cyclone Mekono in some countries in the region as the WMO selected Jeddah City as a follow-up liaison point.
