The 10th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee, in which representatives of 24 countries, and ten oil ministers take part, started here today to follow up the agreement on reducing oil production of members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its non-OPEC partners to maintain market balance. OPEC Secretary-General Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo said that the efforts made by OPEC member states and non-OPEC members have enabled the market to regain stability. He pointed out that the OPEC member states and non-OPEC members face several challenges in this field and that OPEC has a common will to work to activate a good market and will continue dialogue and build bridges between industry and production and among producing and non-producing countries in order to meet the needs of the consumers in a secure manner.
