During the summer vacation, the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received 11.3 million tourist flights with expenditure exceeding 13.5 billion riyals with a growth of 12%, compared to the summer vacation of the last year. The Tourism Information and Research Center (MAS) of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTN) revealed that the number of incoming tourist flights reached 2.3 million, with a growth rate of 21.2%, compared to 2017 as the Kingdom's income from incoming tourist flights in summer 2018 reached 8.7 billion riyals with a growth rate of 15.9%, except tourist expenses for religious purposes . The Eastern Region topped the most visited destinations of incoming tourists with 45%, followed by Riyadh 27%, and Makkah Region 16%. The report added that the number of tourist flights leaving the Kingdom reached 9.4 million flights with a growth rate of 7.4% over 2017, while their expenditure amounted to more than 30.5 billion riyals, a decline of 4.6% over 2017, with an average expenditure of 1,196 riyals per tourist.
