Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad, who is also Chairman of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media, handed over here today, the fourth license for operation of a cinema showroom to Lux Entertainment Company, in partnership with Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development, Sinopolis International and Al-Taeir Group. These alliances seek to establish about 300 showrooms, at various venues, in 15 cities and towns, across the Kingdom, within five years. The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media has approved on December 11, 2017, issuance of licenses for those wishing to open theaters and showrooms, in order to support the film sector to stimulate growth and economic diversification and provide job opportunities, within new industries, in line with the ambitious Vision of the Kingdom 2030.
