The United Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Karen Pierce, confirmed in a statement yesterday UK's support for the efforts of UN Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith. Pierce strongly condemned the attack on the Saudi oil tanker and other aggressive attacks in the Red Sea, expressing concern about shipments of arms passing through the Red Sea. In a statement, the British official called on the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to abide by the UN Security Council resolutions on the conflict in Yemen.
