Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2429, presented by Britain to extend the mandate of the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) for another year until 30 June 2019. The Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations Ambassador Omer Dahab stressed in a speech before the Council his government's commitment to achieve peace in Darfur, calling on Member States to provide support to his country to be able to build development projects that help in the process of peace building.
