Saudi cultural attache at the Saudi embassy in London Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Maqwashi chaired here today a meeting with chief executives of a host of British support providers of educational services for Saudi students on scholarships in British universities. The meeting was designed to discuss the office's new strategy for academic and research partnership with British educational institutions, training and scientific research. During the meeting, Al-Maqwashi underlined the future orientation of his office to provide for Saudi students on scholarships in Britain the British expected educational services during phase I of the strategy, noting that the strategy obliges all British providers to remain keen to help the Saudi scholarship and training authorities implement their initiatives, and transfer knowledge and expertise necessary to qualify the human capital in the Kingdom in a way that meets the aspirations of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince in this regard, climaxed by signing a memorandum of understanding in all educational and cultural fields between His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and British Prime Minister Theresa May during His Royal Highness's recent official visit to the United Kingdom. Al-Maqwashi went on to say that the meeting underscored the expected role of the British educational providers in implementing the Saudi authorities initiatives as per the Kingdom's Vision 2030. He said that the meeting also underlined the importance of upgrading the British educational and cultural partnership from just teaching of language, and preliminary educating to forging a cultural exchange program and developing the human resources for the students on scholarships according to the requirements of promoting the cultural relations between the two governments.
