The official spokesman of the Joint Coalition Forces Command "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen" Colonel Turki Al-Malki announced that at 11:29 a.m. today, the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces (RSADF) intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Iranian-backed Al-Houthi militias from within Yemeni territories (north of Amran Governorate) towards the Kingdom's territories. Colonel Al-Malki added that the RSADF detected another missile which has fallen 100 km away south of Riyadh city in a non-populated desert with no injuries or damages recorded until the time of preparation of this statement. The official spokesman explained that the missiles which were targeting the city (Riyadh) deliberately launched to target civilian and populated areas. Colonel Al-Malki said that this hostile action by Houthi militias backed by Iran proves the continuing involvement of the Iranian regime in support of Al-Houthi militias with qualitative capabilities in a clear and explicit defiance for the violation of UN resolutions (2216) and (2231) in order to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the regional and international security and that launching ballistic missiles towards densely populated cities and villages is contrary to the international humanitarian law.
