Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh and Okaz newspapers commented on privatization, saying that the approval of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development under the chairmanship of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council for the plan of implementing the "Privatization Program" is considered an important transitional stage to be added to the processes of involving the private sector in providing services in different sectors to increase competition and enhance its role. The papers noted that the privatization program is one of the most important programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 aiming to encourage national and foreign capital to invest locally, rationalize government expenditures, increase the contribution of the private sector to the Gross Domestic Program (GDP) from 40% to 65% by 2030, increase the number of jobs and non-governmental investments, and raise the quality of services for the largest number of beneficiaries.
