Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansur Hadi met here today with the UN Secretary General Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, currently on a visit to the country. During the meeting, Hadi reiterated Yemeni government backing of UN concerted efforts to realize permanent peace, in Yemen, in accordance with the main three terms of reference, embodied in the GCC initiative, with its executive mechanism, outputs of the National Dialogue and relevant UN resolutions, notably resolution No. 2216. The Yemeni legitimate government, he added, according to the official news agency, has positively responded to all previously held consultations, however, the Houthi militias reacted to the comprises by showing intransigence, total rejection and insistence to lead on the warfare, asserting that the war has never been an option to the government, as it was imposed on it, to carry out Iran's plans and machinations hostile to Yemen and targeting the neighborliness countries, Hadi concluded. For his part, Griffiths restressed international community keenness to put an end to the war, bring about peace and save the Yemeni people from the difficult situation, they are experiencing, due to the war, drawing attention to the unwavering UN stance, in regard to Yemeni unity, stability and sovereignty.
