The Saudi royal air defense forces have successfully intercepted and destroyed a Houthi militia-launched ballistic missile heading for Najran, the splinters of which scattered on residential neighborhoods of the city, Col. Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesman of the Coalition Supporting the Legitimacy in Yemen, announced, adding that no reports received yet on whether human or property losses occurred. In a statement, Al-Malki explained that at 09:32 on Friday evening, the Coalition air defense forces have monitored that a ballistic missile was launched from Saada, inside Yemen, heading toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said the missile was heading for the Saudi southern city of Najran. Randomly launched by the Houthi militias, the missile was targeting civil and populated areas, he added. He stated that the missile was intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi royal air defense, with the remnants scattering over residential districts but no reports received yet as regards losses of humans or properties as a result. This hostile and random action by Houthis is yet another evidence of the continuation of the Iranian regime in supporting the armed Houthis with qualitative capabilities, a flagrant challenge to the UN resolution No. 2216 and No. 2231 and a move aiming to threaten the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the regional and international security.
