Legal Advisor Saud bin Abdullah Al-Gahtani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Cyber Security and Programming Federation, has issued a decision to establish a college to be specialized in cyber security, programming and smart robot and assigned Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Dahlawy as dean of the faculty. The move comes in view of the Kingdom's vision 2030 aiming at transforming the society to a knowledge and technological one that competes with advanced international countries in information-tech and intellectual mathematics, in the field of cyber and programming in particular. The college will be projected to build and equip specialized young nationals with the latest technological means that would be able to assist in achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's vision 2030. The initiative to establish a college comes in coincidence with the challenges and developments the world community is facing in such vital fields. Following the signing ceremony, Legal Advisor Saud Al-Gahtani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation, confirmed that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, is keen to pursue its endeavor to enable the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and stimulate its youth towards the industry of building professional capabilities through valuable technological innovations in all fields, including cyber, programming and smart robot industry. He said the initiative to establish a specialized college in this field is a simple initiative of the Saudi Federation for Security and Programming to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's vision 2030. For his part, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation, said the establishment of the college at this time constitutes a national culture and stimuli to the concept of cyber security and to build a national cooperation between the Kingdom and different government and private sector sectors locally and internationally. The newly-appointed dean of the college Dr. Dahlawy extended thanks to the chairman of the board of directors of the Federation for the confidence he bestowed on him, wishing that he could contribute to the development of the technological work to push the Kingdom to the high levels of advanced countries in the field of cyber security, programming and smart robot. Dr. Dahlawy disclosed that among the priorities of the college is to design a specialized bachelor program in the field of cyber operations, the first of its kind at the local and regional levels in addition to other distinguished programs that would be announced at the time, appealing to Allah Almighty to preserve the security of this country and its leaders and people.
